Hi, I'm glad you're here!
I'm Doreen. I was 46 when my husband and daughter died in a car accident in 2013. This project grew directly out of that. People wanted to know how I was still standing, let alone surviving and thriving. I had no plan, no idea what I was going to do after that day. But I vowed to figure it out, and that's what I've been doing since.
I write here partly to process it — what I've learned, how I've grown, what's changed. In that sense it's private, even selfish.
And at the same time, I share here the ideas, practices and modalities that have been most effective for me.
You haven't necessarily been through what I've experienced. But we are all at an age now where we have seen what life is about, and it's been a helluva trip so far, hasn't it?. We are all looking for what's next.
When I started out, I was lsearching for evidence that it was possible to continue, to recover, to be better off than ever, in spite of everything. If you're finding some of that evidence here, it's come full circle.
So: let's rest. Take a deep breath. Visit with friends, gather strength, make a plan, take the next step.
You know there's more for you. You know your past doesn't define your future.
You aren't that woman anymore.
What do you want? What do you REALLY want to DO, HAVE, BE, FEEL? Where do you want to GO?
You don't have to know exactly where you're going or how you'll get there yet.
You can do this. Start with One Small Thing. And do it now.
I'll be honored to help — starting with this:
